We were commissioned by the burgeoning Doll’s Kill brand to transform a 5,500 square foot 1930’s masonry building along bustling Fairfax Avenue to become their first Flagship retail store. Right in the heart of the Fairfax Village alternative apparel scene in LA, the store is also directly adjacent to the iconic Canter’s Deli, an “only-in-LA” type of juxtaposition.
Our work focused on the permitting process, to coordinate the architectural components that require an upgrade with this type of occupancy. Our strategic planning included a structural retrofit, egress layout, accessibility upgrades, facade design, energy code compliance, mechanical work, and finish coordination. The project was in collaboration with our direct client, the amazing designers and fabricators of Fraction Hand Built.
