Our entry for the City of Los Angeles Low Rise Housing Competition is ready to add density within existing communities. Our investigation begins with careful acceptance of the elements of neighborhood opposition as a central organizing principle, generating a contextual massing strategy. The massing was further examined to infuse diversity by offering the four units at different levels of life stage and economy. Once the site configuration was established, the design process focused on adding: recognizable elements of comfort, environmental strategies, and vernacular features.
